Workplace Temperatures Week of Action: 14th–20th July

As the summer heat rises, so do temperatures in our workplaces—and while employers are legally required to keep indoor environments safe and cool, too many still fall short.

From 14th to 20th July, the TUC is calling on union health and safety reps to take part in a nationwide inspection of workplace temperatures. It’s time for a collective temperature check—and a push for cooler, safer working conditions.

Get involved:

Sign up below to take part and receive a free action pack, including a workplace temperature checklist and thermometer. Plus, if you carry out an inspection and report back to us, you’ll earn a special TUC credential to recognise your action.

Three cool steps to get ready:

  1. Join the webinar – On 18 June, hear from experts and fellow reps about workplace temperature regulations, organising tactics, and how to take part in the week of action.

  2. Sign the petition – Add your voice to the growing call for a legally enforceable maximum working temperature. Click the pic above.

  3. Attend our reps' workshop – Happening on Wednesday 25th June, this session—run in partnership with the Hazards Campaign and Heat Strike campaign—will help workplace reps plan effective organising actions. Spaces are limited, so register early.

Let’s organise together for safer, cooler workplaces this summer. Sign Up Here
